American Lynching
So I came across these pictures the other day of actual lynchings that took place right here in the good ol’ USA. It’s very disturbing, shocking, and appalling to think that these atrocities happened in this country less than 100 years ago. It was not an uncommon practice back then for there to be public displays of lynchings of black people; mostly innocent, some charged with petty crimes. There would be flyer’s posted stating something to the effect of “Lynching Of Black Man Today” and people would get dressed up, bring their children, cameras, and sadistic appetites to see the show. The fun would begin with the crowd throwing rocks or whatever they could pick up at him. Then they would cut of different appendages ending with the penis which they would put in a jar and save as a souvenir. Then finally to put him out of his misery he’d be burned alive. They would send out postcards to family members as they smiled gleefully in the photos. This kind of thing makes think of how far we’ve come in this country and how far we still need to go. It disturbs me to think that human beings are capable of treating other human beings this way.

i am currently studying the subject of african slavery and the thought of many people ganging up and murdering practically innocent people who are only of a different colour or tongue. This behaviour severly disgusts me, and i will continue to research this subject and maybe teach others how the world will always remember the torchure many coloured people suffered.
