2008

So it is now the Year 2008 and I say so what!  Usually around this time of year people start off with their bullshit “New Years Resolutions” about what they plan or aspire to do to improve themselves for the year.  Usually, by the end of the first month those resolutions have been broken and we all settle into our nasty little habits.  Just like on January 1st you see TONS of people at the gym but by January 15th it’s back to normal capacity.  Why is this?  Well, in my opinion, if you have to wait until the beginning of a new year to make plans to get on track then something is seriously wrong.  Why not plan on improving yourself right now?  Why not on January 2nd….or for that matter, why not December 31 of last year.  Why? Probably because people, for the most part, are lazy creatures.  We love to make excuses, love to procrastinate, love to put off for tomorrow what we can accomplish today.  I’m not trying to be all holier than thou.  If you look up procrastination in the dictionary you’d probably see a picture of me right under it.  So as I reflect on today, tomorrow, and the days thereafter my number one priority will be to stop making excuses, stop procrastinating, and basically to get up off my lazy ass and be like Nike and Just Do It!
