Okay, okay, I know I’m a little late on this. But I’ve been nursing a cold and haven’t been motivated to post anything. Well, unless you have been living under a rock we’ve all seen the tremendous speech Senator Obama gave on race. It was a beautiful speech, see for yourself on the youtube video. And it seems that not only are Americans taking notice that Obama is THE candidate for the next president, but people overseas as well. Upon review of the youtube comments I’ve noticed that Obama has more support amongst people internationally than people in his own country. WTF!! Are we Americans so stupid that we can’t see this man’s greatness right before our eyes. We sit here and dwell on these distractions like the whole Rev. Wright thing who, honestly in my opinion, was mostly speaking the truth. When is America going to open it’s eyes? I don’t know. But anyway, here are some of the comments and reactions to the youtube video, check them out.
wow I caught this late (my parents told me to check it out and I’m 44) and I have to say I’m damn well impressed. I’m a Nader guy (have been since ‘96) but this guy is so good I might just jump. what a stirring and INTELLIGENT speech. something seriously lacking from so much of what I watch as potential candidates go. sorry.
“am not even american n i am diggin him”
“True, here in the Caribbean we really want him to win. I wander if Americans realize how interested the world is in this race & how much they want this guy to win!”
“My friend if you heard the complete sermon in the entire context then you would be able to understand that he wasn’t encouraging hate, instead he was preaching that governments can fall because of actions that they do onto others. He doesn’t hate America at all, but it is hard for good people like yourself to understand that if you are only given snippets instead of the full speech. The media is trying to portray him as a man who hates white people when white people attend his Church.”
“Hi everyone!
As I saw the lenght of this video, I thought “omg I don’t wanna watch this”
But as I heard his words and the issues he’s talking about, and the way how he talks to the “crowd”, I just couldn’t close the Firefox-window!
If I were an American I’d vote for him.
Greets to you guys from Austria (UEFA EURO 2008) - not Australia.”
“Impressing words, says a German citizenship!”
“I’m from Europe, but i think obama is the best choice America ever had for president and for a peaceful future.”
“Great man!! Great speech. I feel there is hope for America and ALL of its people.”
“If i were an American, i would vote for him. I am usually a rather cynic person, especially as far as politicians are concerned. But with Obama, i feel like he is really believing in something higher. And not like Bush who is just a nutcase.”
“I am really sad that I am not a citizen. I wish he was from my country because I feel we need a leader like him so desparately. It saddens me that so many people in the US do not see it. In my eyes this should not even be a race. Obama is clearly the best candidate America has produced in a very long time. It would be a shame if America wasted this opportunity.”
“Suddenly we are seeing a lot of international comments, especially from Germany and Britain. Why this sudden increase? Was there an article in some journal or newspaper? A TV profile?”
“I think this is just another indication of the extraordinary quality of this man. Compared to the mediocrity of Merkel, Blair, Brown, Schroeder, Sarkozy, Putin etc, Obama stands out for his intellect, honesty, and integrity. We need more leaders like Obama, and not just in the US!”
“This is the greatest speech ever. I am white and from the south. I am going to vote for him. He is going to help making the United states a real union. I used to vote for the Republicans but I have to say it is time for thoughts such as he has just shared with us.”
JOE
“its kinda sad that you just see a handful of those kinds of politicians in a lifetime, but HEY heres one
, good luck to the obama campaing, Greetz from Germany PS: its amazing how the world community is interested in this man”
“Wouldn’t it be great to hear a president such as this man, speaking on TV for the next four years - rather than the superficial and obvious pandering coming from Hillary and McCain. My god, every time Hillary comes on TV, I just change the channel. She’s like a Stepford wife, reading from the Clif notes with no soul. And John “bomb bomb” McCain is just another Bush Jr. We’ve heard it all before - the war mongering, fear, etc…. Nothing new. We need obama!”
“How can americans be so stupid that they don’t vote for a once in a lifetime candidate.”
